The Wood Project supply timber slabs from salvaged log, kiln dried at our factory on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Wood Project salvage logs and mill them to produce an amazing array of sustainable timber slabs (see below for our extensive and ever changing range of timbers). We own and operate our own kiln, our timber slabs are kiln dried down to 10 percent moisture content – which is optimum for furniture making. We offer a large, unprecedented stock of  ‘live’ edge slabs. Please note, we do not offer a kiln drying service to the public, we only kiln dry our own slabs.

Visit our warehouse, walk away with a timber slab and work on it yourself or pick a timber slab of your choice and we will create a custom piece of furniture for you. ‘Live’ means that the natural edges of the slab are kept in tact.  Live edge furniture has a beautiful uniqueness, warmth and character - bring the outdoors in!

There is always the option to remove the live edges, but they are mostly left on during the milling process to give you both options when picking out a slab. Due to our timber being milled from salvaged logs, the grains and character of the wood are like no other. Some of the trees we salvage are more than 180 years old with an incredible amount of history and character.
